A Retrospective Large Original Study of Cutaneous Melanoma

Background: The incidence of cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM) has increased continuously during recent decades among many populations the world. Cutaneous Malignant Melanoma is a malignancy with demographic and ethnic disparity located in skin mucous membranous. objective this study to determine (CM) characteristics Iran. Methods: This retrospective cross sectional study. We used data from Razi Hospital, Tehran University Cancer Registry. cases included met following criteria: primary CM, situ or invasive, diagnosed past ten years. have evaluated prognostic factors addition basic data. Result: A total 193 melanomas (99 males (51.3%) 94 females (48.7%)) were included. mean age was 58.3±15.8years. most frequent location for lower extremity (75 patients, 38.9%). subtype based on histopathology Acral Lentiginous (ALM) (74 38.3%). There statistically significant difference between histological subtypes Breslow thickness (p˂ 0.00 1). Conclusion: Present showed risk such as pre-existing nevus are important CMM Early detection key factor improving patients’ survival.
